What does Rosh Hashanah mean?
Rosh Hashanah (Hebrew: רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה,
literally "head of the year") is the Jewish New Year,
which is celebrated for two days in a row
on the new moon of the autumn month of Tishrei (Tishri)
according to the Jewish calendar
(falls in September or October).
From this day on, the countdown of the days
of the new Jewish year begins.
